Now here is an interesting machine. At least I think so. It was Kawasaki's first Ninja 250. I bought this bike for two reasons. One, because I was in school learning motorcycle mechanics and needed a good project. And two, because I wanted to begin road racing. It turned out to be a pretty successful venture. The bike was dirt cheap, in good condition, didn't run, was easy to repair, and easily and affordably converted to a road racer as you can see here.
Not too much to say about the Ascot. I just needed a fix and it was handy. It was a 500cc single. A very simple machine by most standards.
Even though the RZ was not mine I had soooooooo much fun on this machine. I won't get into the details but trust me that a good time was had. My friend still says to this day that it was like riding a lawn mower. Too bad he didn't know how to find the bikes potential like I did. There's nothing quite like riding a 2-stroke twin cylinder street bike to get your adrenaline pumping.
And the one that started it all. My Suzuki TS 125. Unfortunately about six months or so after purchasing this bike I was thrown over a car at about 40 mph. I landed head first in the pavement (does this explain some things?) but luckily I was wearing a helmet. I don't think I would be alive today had I not been wearing one. Either that or my face would have been ground off. I think I'll choose the helmet over that.
